Refills: easy to do and very good value
Since I use MUCH more black ink than the colors, I have been refilling my black pigment cartridge for several years with the last couple of printers. The one thing I have found that it is easier and better to refill before the ink supply gets low; i.e. every couple of weeks.

This ink refill kit was a lot of hassle to install and really not worth it in the end.

got ink all over the place
Even following the directions carefully, ink leaked out of the first tank I filled. The rubber stopper would not fit in the hole I made on top of the cartridge with the little tool provided. I'll stick to buying cartridges.

No mention of chips
I have always purchased my ink from 1-2-3 but with this new all-in-one a chance to refill cartridges would be something to try. I currently read a review from a Janice that stated you need a chip for the Canon MX860 Ink Tell refill kits to reset up to 5 times but there is no mention of where to get this reset chip nor does it mention in the description that a chip is included in the kit can someone verify. Once you get this chip can it be reset more than 5 times?

Well done, but ...
The refill kits are top notch and work well. However, it was not made clear that they are designed to refill ONLY Canon OEM cartridges. If you have a compatible it is possible that the refill hole is smaller than the Canon cartridge (with the ball removed) and the supplied plugs do not fit. You will either have to redrill using your own bit, which could put bits of plastic in the ink tank, or use some other closing method (tape?).
This was the only thing not mentioned about these kits. Otherwide, perfect!
