How To Print a Calendar With Family Pictures On Them

When the holiday season comes around it can be extremely difficult to find products that you want to purchase for friends or family members. Many times people choose to go the more creative route, having products made that will be not only beautiful to look at, but that will mean something to the person who is receiving the gift. A family calendar is a great gift to give people, and to have in your own home, but quite often people don't know how to go about making one on their own. Here are a few tips so that you can make your own family calendar with photos on them.

Find the Right Program

The first step is to figure out what program you'll be using to make your calendar. There are a number of different programs out there, including ones that are specially designed to be able to make calendars. If you're trying to save money, you may not have to purchase a special program. Many programs will help you to make a printable calendar easily, including programs like Photoshop and Microsoft Word. You can also find some free downloadable calendar templates online that you can use to make your photo calendar.

Find the Right Photos

The next trick is to find the right photos to use. You will want to make sure that your photos are ones that others will enjoy looking at and that relay what you're trying to design. And don't feel as though you have to stick with new photos. Some of the best photo calendars are ones that feature older photos. You can choose to use one photo per month, which means that you would need twelve unique photos, or you can make photo collages for every month, which will allow you to use more photos and to get a much wider variety of images on your page.

Personalize It

Next you should personalize your calendar. Go through and mark down special birthdays and anniversaries on the calendar, so that the recipient will be able to know whose birthday is when simply by looking at the calendar. You could eve go one step further and put down birthdays of people in your family who are no longer with you. It's a great way to remember them as well as to see who shares birthdays or anniversaries with their ancestors.

Once you've designed your calendar, it's time to print them. You can print them at home easily, as long as you have a good printer and a new ink cartridge (it would be bad to run out of ink in the middle of printing, which is why a new ink cartridge is always a good idea). Remember when you're printing that the photo for each month will be on the back side of the previous month. Then you can use a paper punch to connect the calendar together, or you can bring it to a local copy center to have a spiral bound put on it for a more professional look.
