Inkjet Printers and Event Invitations
If you will be having a special occasion, but need to try to keep within a tight budget, marrying inkjet printers and event invitations could be a help to you. Most people don't stop to think that they can produce elegant or whimsy invitations right on their own home computer printers. Especially if you buy the paper and envelopes in bulk, use remanufactured ink cartridges and get a helping hand to stuff envelopes, you may actually come out ahead. We have a few hints below to help out and give some ideas that you may not have thought of.
If you have never printed anything else besides plain text on your plain printer paper, don't worry. Using different styles, colors and weights of papers can seem a little daunting at first but it's not. Most home printers, especially Inkjet printers, do a fabulous job at printing clean, crisp photos and text. Most units will handle papers as thin as Vellum and as thick as heavy weight cardstock. All you have to do is read the directions for the papers that you choose.
Creating your own invitations provides a lasting memorial for all who attend to have as a keepsake. As they look back at these custom made items, they will remember the personal gesture. Create it with love and they will remember it with love.
Most of our home computers already have enough software that contains templates for letters and envelopes. All you have to do is spruce it up with borders, elegant fonts, colors, etc. You can also add an image or even a picture to create a one-of-a-kind project. When we created our parents 30 th wedding anniversary invitations, we add their favorite picture of them standing in front of the Great Pyramid. Can you imagine the statement that made? You can certainly use basic clipart or even find images to download of the Internet for free. There are an endless amount of these images to choose from.
Next is the wording to be placed within your invitation. You can use a basic template or insert a favorite poem with the time and date at the bottom. There is, of course, invitation software programs that can create set-ups for you but to make it truly unique, we suggest creating your own with a little help if needed.
Last but not least, you need to print the invitation. Using a test page with plain paper first can give you a good idea of what your project will look like, if it's centered, if the font is too small or large, etc. These you can edit without having to waste a more expensive paper. If everything looks good then you should load your specialty paper and run another one to test your printer and see if it is set right. Make sure to also check the printing parameters and set to the "Thick" paper setting.
Once you have your final product you can sit back and admire your work! If you have never done such a project, then pat yourself on the back and start printing out the rest. Make sure to take you time and you will see how easy and rewarding it can be to create such a wonderful keepsake.
