Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.

In an attempt to reduce my ink jet expenses on my Epson 630 and 645 Workforce printers (yes, I have both), I have been keeping my eye open for a possible substitute. One search I did recently turned up LD Products offering of 123inkjets printer cartridges. The reviews I read were much better than other products. So I thought I would give them a try and ordered their bulk pack. The package came quickly and I decided to try the cartridges in the 645, my most recent printer purchase. Long story short, it was a disaster. After the 645 went through it's typical routine of checking the cartridges, etc., I started copying a document with lots of color and black and white text. By the third copy. the problems started. The colors were not correct and banding was evident. I stopped the print job and ran through the maintenance processes of nozzle check and head cleaning. No improvement was noted. Rather than give up, I decided to run more copies of my "test" original. The prints continued to have washed out colors and the banding continued, affected the whole page. The nozzle check and head cleaning was repeated twice, again with no improvement. I still have the copies: numbered, time stamped, and dated to back up these statements. Against my better judgement, I decided to take the cartridges out of the 645 and put them in the 630, and tried again. Sadly, the results were identical so it does not need repeating.
After reloading my 630 and 645 with Epson cartridges, print quality was restored after about 20 copies had been run through the machines with a nozzle check and head cleaning done before making copies.
When I called LD customer support to discuss the problem and return of the product, they suggested I try the other cartridges before returning everything but I told them I had enough so they kindly processed the return. It's good to know LD's customer support is easy to contact and responsive.

An answer to problems

Comments about Bulk Set of 4 Ink Cartridges for Epson 127:

i noticed how some people complained about the cartridges not recognized and/or other problems. i've had them all. According to the Workforce 630 manual, if there is a problem with cartridges not being recognized, try seating the cartridge again. I did that 3 times with one cartridge and it worked. If not, clean the place where the metallic strip is located in the cartridge slots. If it's poor print color with "banding," the manual states to do a nozzle check and clean the print heads MORE THAN ONE TIME. You should do it up to 6 times in one day. Then wait until the next day and try again. That worked for me. Also, align the print heads. That usually cures the problem, too. It may take a lot of time if you don't do it very often, but well worth it. No need to buy another printer.

Lastly, I don't depend on remanufactured every time. I will switch back and forth between Epson and remanufactuered.

Comments about Remanufactured Epson T127320 EHY Magenta Inkjet Cartridge:

Couldn't use the cartridges unless I took it in to get the ink leveler reset with a device, Epson printers can't be reset manually... Unless you have the extra $60 to get serviced, I suggest u shouldn't buy the cartridges for this brand. It won't work

Noting re-manufactured comes with an "Absolute Guarantee"!

Comments about Remanufactured Epson T127120 EHY Black Inkjet Cartridge:

Wow! What an opportunity. I am the family's "Go to Person" for Computer/Printer problems. I have been ordering "LD" Ink Cartridges for Brother, Cannon, HP and Epson printers for our family for some time now. Recently I had a bad experience with one of your YELLOW Cartridges when I visited my X-Wife in Sherman, Texas. The Epson Stylus NX625 would not "Recognize" your Yellow Cartridge that I purchased from you earlier.
So my dilemma was. I'm was leaving TX the next morning and I can't leave without having an Operating Printer behind. The only solution was to go out and buy a Brother Printer and order some new ink cartridges from you guys for when the "Starter Cartridges" run out. Which I did.
I have the 3 Cartridges that I ordered from you and have no use for them. Noting re-manufactured comes with an "Absolute Guarantee";
Since I have done business with you for a while and you have replaced defective products in the past. I'm staying with you as a supplier
By the way the epson Printer is able to tell the Original Date of manufacture of your cartridges.
